ACT

Experts at IB LAB will never tire of sharing their knowledge with you. IB LAB, serving the MENA region as the best career counseling firm, provides excellent training programs in the ACT. This standardized test, known originally as the American College Testing, is used for admission to college in the United States. The ACT covers four academic skill areas in addition to an optional direct writing test.

English

During the first 45 minutes of the test, you will be assessed on usage/mechanics, sentence structure, and rhetorical skills. There are 75 questions in the test, with certain sections underlined on one side of the page and alternatives on the other.

Mathematics

Within this 60-minute, 60-question math test, you'll find approximately 14 pre-algebra questions, 10 questions from elementary algebra, nine questions from intermediate algebra, 14 questions from plane geometry, nine questions from coordinate geometry, and four questions from elementary trigonometry. Question difficulty increases with an increasing number of questions.

Reading

Each portion of this test, which includes two short writing passages and a big prose passage, is divided into four 35-minute sections. In a first-year college course, you will find a wide variety of types and levels of texts. The three parts of this reading test evaluate essential concepts and details, craft and structure, and idea integration. To answer most test questions, students can use either explicit statements or reasoning to determine latent meanings from texts.

Scientific Reasoning

In this 35-minute test, you will find 40 questions divided into seven sections, each with five to seven questions. The three formats used in the sections are Data Representation, Research Summary, and Conflicting Viewpoints.

ACT exam components are scored individually based on a range of 1-36, and a composite score is calculated. In addition to more than 225 universities outside of the United States, it is recognized by all four-year colleges and universities in the United States. Applicants are required to write an essay in 40 minutes during the optional ACT writing portion. While there is no specific essay structure required, students must respond to a prompt; the questions are broad, and students must analyze three different perspectives and show how their own opinions relate to each perspective.
